Getting started
1

Download & install the plugin

Download the Studio Sync plugin file from the link in your welcome email, or directly from studiosync.tools/download.

  • Double-click the downloaded .ccx file to launch the installer.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud will open and prompt you to install — click Install.
  • Once installed, open Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Go to Window → UXP Plugins → Studio Sync to open the panel.
💡 Requires Adobe Premiere Pro 25.6.4 or later. If you don't see Studio Sync under UXP Plugins, you may need to enable Developer Mode first — go to Premiere Pro → Settings → General and turn on Enable Developer Mode, then restart Premiere.
2

Activate your license key

Your license key is included in the welcome email sent after subscribing. It looks like ss-001-xxxx-xxxx.

  • Open the Studio Sync panel in Premiere Pro.
  • Paste your license key into the activation field and click Activate.
  • The panel will connect to your library and load your templates.
💡 Each license key can be active on one machine at a time. To switch computers, click Logout first to release the current activation.
3

Set your admin PIN

On first activation you'll be prompted to set an admin PIN. This PIN protects the upload, settings, and management controls so editors can browse and insert templates without accessing admin features.

  • Choose a PIN of at least 4 characters.
  • You'll need this PIN any time you want to access admin mode.
  • If you forget it, you can reset it using your license key via the Forgot PIN? link.
4

Choose a download folder

After setting your PIN, you'll be asked to choose a permanent folder where downloaded template files are saved.

  • Click Choose Folder and pick a location on your machine (e.g. a shared network drive or local project folder).
  • Once set, templates download directly there and stay accessible between Premiere sessions.
  • You can skip this and use a temporary folder, or change it at any time in Settings.
💡 Using a permanent folder means templates are only downloaded once and reused from cache, keeping things fast.
Using the library
5

Browse & insert templates

The Library tab shows all templates organised into categories. Use the left sidebar to navigate categories, and the search bar to find templates by name or tag.

  • Click the Insert button on any template card to add it to your Premiere timeline.
  • MOGRT templates are inserted directly onto the timeline at the playhead position, above any existing footage on V1.
  • Video files are imported into the project panel — drag them to your timeline from there.
  • Use the Refresh button to reload the library if new templates have been uploaded.
💡 Templates are cached after the first download, so inserting the same template again is instant.
Admin features
6

Enter admin mode

Admin mode unlocks the Upload and Settings tabs, and adds management controls to each template card.

  • Click Admin in the top-right corner of the panel.
  • Enter your PIN and click Unlock.
  • Click Lock to return to editor mode when you're done.
7

Upload templates

In admin mode, the Upload tab lets you add new MOGRT or video files to the library.

  • Click Choose File and select a .mogrt, .mp4, or .mov file.
  • Give it a name, add optional tags, and assign it to a category.
  • Upload a thumbnail image (PNG or JPG) to show a preview in the library.
  • Click Upload — the template appears in the library immediately.
8

Manage categories & templates

In admin mode you can reorganise the library without leaving Premiere.

  • Create categories — click the + button in the sidebar. Categories can be nested.
  • Move templates — use the ⋯ menu on a template card to move it to a different category.
  • Rename or delete templates and categories from the same menu.
  • Update thumbnails — replace a template's preview image at any time.
  • Edit tags — add or remove search tags to make templates easier to find.
9

Settings

The Settings tab (admin mode only) lets you customise the panel for your team.

  • Client branding — upload your studio or client logo to display alongside the Studio Sync logo in the header.
  • Category colours — assign a colour to each category so template pills are easy to identify at a glance.
  • Download folder — change or clear the permanent download destination.
  • Admin PIN — update your PIN at any time.
